Tanya & Rob – Oct 22nd

Last Saturday I ventured down to Kiama for Tanya and Rob’s delightful wedding at the Sebel Kiama. After the intimate garden ceremony, we went to the rock pools then to Jamberoo for a real “surf and turf” shoot.

Tanya & Rob met by accident at Rob’s birthday drinks in 2008 when Katie, a mutual friend invited Tanya along. It turned out that both Tanya and Rob were going to the New Year’s cricket test. Covertly, at the cricket, under the premise of fixing Tanya’s phone (by the way Tanya still refuses to join Telstra!), Rob happened to steal Tanya’s phone number. A few weeks later, Rob and Tanya enjoyed an all-day Date at Scarborough Pub. Their love for each other was evident right from the start. In 2010, Rob and Tanya went to South Africa to meet Tanya’s family and Rob was a favourite with the grandparents. With this endorsement, in April 2011 Rob proposed to Tanya at a surprise dinner at the Altitude Restaurant at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney. Rob looked around to see if anyone was watching, quickly got down on one knee and popped the question. Rob had to ask Tanya again if it was a YES, because all Tanya was interested in was the ring.(By the way, when Rob asked Tanya’s dad for her hand in marriage, he said: “Are you sure???” ) . Rob and Tanya have been looking forward to sharing the wedding celebrations with their family and friends ever since. The happy couple will depart for the Cook Islands for their Honeymoon after the wedding. So it turned out Rob got the best present for his birthday in 2008.

Khali & Austen – Oct 21st

Austen asked Khali to marry him while on a weekend away in Port Macquarie, celebrating 3 years together. Austen got down one knee and asked Khali to marry him while watching the sunset at Tacking Point Lighthouse. After this romantic proposal, it was a perfect Spring day that greeted our new Bride and Groom as they emerged from the Spectacular Our Lady of Delores Catholic Church at Chatswood. We then ventured to Kirribilli for a fabulous harbourside photo shoot. Khali & Austen and their bridal party then boarded a chartered water taxi for a relaxing trip over the waves to their reception at L’Aqua, Cockle Bay. The night was topped off by a hilarious sprint down memory lane courtesy of Best Man Matt’s speech and check out Khali’s expression when her Groom reveals his closely guarded secret honeymoon location – Fiji! Enjoy the honeymoon guys, congratulations and I can’t wait to hear all about it when you get back.

Justine’s Girls

Last Sunday I had a terriffic shoot with Justine and her 9 besties. I shot Justine’s Mum’s family portrait 3 or 4 years ago, so I was stoked when Justine called me to capture her and her special friends.

All the girls met at Woolooware High School and stayed close ever since! These lovely ladies now live all over the world and when this opportunity came up to get together, a photo shoot was clearly in order!

Thanks girls, it was a pleasure to meet you all. You’re all so vibrant and beautiful, you made my job easy!

Jessica & David’s Vintage Wedding

Jessica & David’s wedding last Saturday was a simple yet elegant affair. The ceremony was in Beecroft Presbyterian then followed by shots in the local rainforest which was stunning. Alex had a great time shooting the bride and her groom with their bridal party at the rainforest and then in the beautiful gardens of the sophistocated Mandalay at Lane Cove. Jessica’s gorgeous vintage style gown set the tone of the whole day…

Country Fashion Shoot with Living Beauty

Yesterday afternoon was one of the most fun I’ve had on a fashion shoot set ever! Mieke & Storm from Living Beauty looked absolutely gorgeous for their spring carnival fashion shoot.

We schlepped on out to Cadman Lodge for a fantastic shoot with some stunning models – and the horses weren’t bad either! Renee from Bespoke by Renee supplied all the gorgeous head pieces, facinators and accessories. Mieke, Storm and Ti were amazing at doing their own hair and makeup – just imagine what they can do for their clients!

Leanne & Jeremy – 17th Sept 2011

Jeremy proposed on Sat Feb 5^th 2011 after taking a flight on Sydney Seaplanes from Rose Bay to Cottage Point Inn for a 3 course lunch. It was that scorching hot day (around 42 degrees) and during a walk after lunch, they sat down on a rock overlooking the bay and Jeremy said “well come on….will you marry me please??” Leanne had a few happy tears and of course said “yes.” That night we kicked on and continued the celebrations with Kerry, Steph, Sean and Jo at Bondi Icebergs, top night!

With picture postcard perfect weather, Leanne & Jeremy married in my favourite wedding spot – under the big pine on Shelley Beach. The sun broke through the clouds just as they said “I do” and Leanne’s Dad Tom’s tears of joy flowed. It was an emotion charged ceremony that no one will forget in a hurry.

It was lovely to meet you all and I’ll see Jeremy and Leanne when you get back from your honeymoon.

Emma & Andrew’s Engagement Shoot

Emma was the lucky winner of our Doltone House Glamour E-session. Mieke from Living beauty Makeup Artistry did Emma’s gorgeous makeup for the shoot.

We met in the rocks and toured around for an hour or so, taking some wonderful pics as we went.

Emma and Andrew met after Emma’s brother fostered the beginnings of their relationship (what a bro!) They are so in love and their photos tell that story beautifully. It was lovely to meet you both again and I hope you guys have a heap of fun planning your big day.

Zoe & Mark – 10th Sept 2011

Even though the weather wasn’t quite as summery as we would have liked, Zoe and Mark’s wedding warmed all their guest’s hearts! I had a great time shooting their wedding and I love catching up with familiar faces – I shot the wedding of their good friends Mark & Mel last year.

Mark proposed over a romantic dinner at Summer Salt, so the wedding had to be in an equally spectacular location – St George Motor Boat Club fit the bill perfectly!
