Paul must be one fabulous guy! His lovely Lea not only found space, but MADE space in her heart for Paul all amongst her extensive shoe collection! Lea, you’re a girl after my own heart – every girl has the “right to shoes”. So of course, such an officianado on the subject would be wed in only the best – Louboutin? Choo? When only the best will do, accept no substitute…Blahnik all the way!

Lea’s dress has got to be a contender for JettyBlue dress of the season. A triumph in dusty rose with a beaded bodice and a very unique skirt. I absolutely love it when brides step out.

When I awoke in the morning, I had resigned myself to yet another wet wedding, but right on cue, the sun shone just as Lea’s C300 pulled up for the ceremony at Observatory Hill. After a wonderful ceremony by the legendary Coral Cortlepel, we had some teriffic photos on observatory hill with the looming storm clouds providing a very dramatic backdrop. We made it down to Dawes Point for even more shots before the sun set on a fabulous wedding day. The night was enjoyed by all their guests at The Italian Village at the rocks.

 

 

 

Despite the frightful weather, Bronwyn and Andy’s wedding went off without a hitch! They were married at one of my most favourite Catholic Churches in Sydney – St. Brigids at Coogee. After a wonderful ceremony by Fr. Terry, we high-tailed it down to Wiley’s Baths for the photos. We made it there just in time before the heavens opened and we all took shelter under the marquee. It wasn’t long before the weather lifted a little and Bronwyn, Andy and their brave bridal party made the most of the time we had and we got some fantastic shots. The rainy weather gave us some very dramatic backdrops that we wouldn’t have acheived any other time.

Once the weather had set in proper and the light was lost, we had a blast shooting the family portraits in the foyer of the Cronwe Plaza Coogee Bay. Andy’s massive family made for a great challenge, but the result was well worth the effort. The guests had a great time at the reception at the Crowne Plaza.

 

These two high school sweethearts were a vision of all that’s lovey when they got married last Saturday. Marina’s Italian heritage was an important character in the festivites of the day and added a real family fun atmosphere.

The church was at Marina’s local family parish church, St Anthony’s at Kings Park. Then it was off to Curzon Hall (one of my all time favourite venues!) for some fabulous photos in the gardens and then inside for a sumptuous feast that went on forever! Just in case the food wasn’t enough to make you smile, the crowd was entertained by a troupe of Brazilian dancers! Hola!

Big thanks to Marina and Mum and Dad, Nella & Gino for their delightful hospitality during the day. Alex and I had a ball.

 

Alex & Jay’s wedding on the harbour was an exercise in style and sophistocation. The very definition of an “uptown” wedding complete with string quartet at the ceremony in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The harbour is always a stunning backdrop to any occasion, but on this day nothing could take away from the glow eminating from Alex as she was walked down the aisle by Dad Michael.

As they say, “when in Rome…” so we made the most of the harbour while we were in the Gardens and had a fabulous and chilled photo shoot as we all strolled along the waters edge up to Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair, taking in all the beauty the harbour had to offer us. After great shots on the harbour, we made our way into the Rocks for shots at one of my absolute fave spots on Harrington St. Then down to Dawes Point for those iconic shots that would have been remiss of me to exclude.

The weather held off all day which made for perfect light for photos on the water wherever we went. Once Alex & Jay were all photo’d out, DeDe’s at Abbostford rounded out the night with a wonderful reception. After a few teary moments during the speeches were avoided (nice going Eliza), bridesmaid Kath Haling wowed the crowd with a perfomance of a song she crafted especially for Alex and Jay. Any tears saved in the speeches weren’t spared during Kath’s performance. It was nothing short of moving. I felt genuinely blessed to have been present to experience it. Kath has released her own country album which is available on iTunes and cdbaby.com and she hopes that the song she penned for Alex and Jay will feature on the next album. In keeping with the swapping best man theme, another big thanks to Craig and Louise whos wedding I shot on THAT 40+ degree day in Feb. Jay was Craig’s best man and Craig returned the favour today. Great to catch up with you guys and thanks again for the recommendation!

How I loooove a Friday wedding! Narelle & Stu’s Friday wedding was blessed with perfect weather all day long. After having met each other on RSVP.com, Stu proposed 6 months later on their favourite spot on a seat by the sea at Cronulla. Almost a year later from when they first met (375 days to be exact!), their connection was finally made permanent last weekend.

The ceremony was held in a lovely church in Edgecliff, St Josephs. Family photos in the lovely garden at the church was fabulous then off to photos at Narelle’s favourite city location – Observatory Hill in the Rocks. Then off to their reception on the Harbour. Calm waters and a spectacular sunset rounded out a perftect wedding day for these two online lovers!

No more ten pin bowling guys??? “He kicks my butt at ten pin bowling so much so that I make him play left handed and he still wins, obviously we dont play this any more!!” You go girl!

If I had to sum up in one word MarieAnne & Lee’s wedding on Sunday, it would be “FUN”. Everyone was so relaxed on the day, they couldn’t help but have a great time. The bridesmaids dresses were simply fabulous and MarieAnne’s gown was a vision in lace – simply stunning. Just in case anyone thought that ivory lace could be a bit traditional, MarieAnne knocked that on the head lickety split with a sensational pair of electric blue satin platform shoes! The flowers included jonquils, hydrangers and Lily’s.

The weather held off at the appropriate times so that the ceremony at Star of the Sea, Watsons Bay, went off without a hitch. MarieAnne’s brother Stefan did a stellar job standing in for their beloved Dad and gave the Bride away with style. A beautiful reading (only my humble opinion – the priest certainly thought it was unusual) preceeded the crescendo of applause that accompanied the bride and groom’s kiss. It has been a long time that I have seen a wedding where every single member of the congregation stood out of their seats and went simply bananas as the priest announced the bridal couple as husband and wife. The tumult was almost deafening in the old stone church.

Photos at Watsons Bay lighthouse and beach followed which we were very lucky to avoid the rain yet again. MarieAnne & Lee – I don’t know who you’ve got up there, but there’s certainly someone in heaven on your side! The reception at the Gap Bluff Function Centre was catered for by MarieAnne’s best friend Natalie’s husband Mauricio. He has a fabulous Spanish restaurant at Crows Nest called Extra Virgin Fine Foods. Everyone must experience this food! Check it out at www.extravirginfinefoods.com.au

MarieAnne’s Maurician heritage gave the reception an extra special flair, especially with the traditional Maurician Sega dancers that entertained the crowd. The piano man kept the dancefloor full all night and I’m sure everyone would have partied into the wee hours had National Parks let them! Thanks for a great day guys and enjoy the honeymoon! You certainly need a rest after all that dancing!

Not even the wettest March weekend on record could dampen the spirits of these two! Jenny and Anthony were married in a lovely ceremony at Star of the Sea Miranda. After family photos inside the church as the heavens opened (again), we braved the weather and headed down to my favourite wet weather location in the shire – Tom Ugly’s boat ramp. It’s not glamorous, but we were lucky to catch the low tide and we got some great shots on the sand.

The bridal party arrived at their reception at Shipwrights in style aboard a baby Riviera. They were greeted with a traditional Lithuanian bread and salt ceremony to reflect Anthony’s mother’s Lithuanian heritage. The traditional Lithuanian wedding cake was simply spectacular and so it should be – it took 3 days to make! After the formalities, the guests were herded outside for a “group shot”, only to be amazed at the surprise fireworks display Jenny and Anthony put on for them! I’m not talking a couple of sparklers, it was a display of NYE harbourside proportions! It was so huge it even woke up my 3yr old at my place at Como! Needless to say, that put everyone in a party mood and the rest of the night went of like a cracker.
