Evelyn & Graham – 9th March 2012

Thursday the 8th saw Sydney hit with record rainfall and as the torrents fell, I wished, hoped, prayed….

I’m sure I wasn’t the only one and we were all rewarded with a glorious autum day on Friday for Evelyn and Graham’s wedding day. So for that day, Evelyn was known as the “blessed bride”.

With an entertaining and inspiring ceremony presided over by Father Paul (non other than the same Fr Paul that wed Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban!), their wedding day rolled on with a pub crawl style photo shoot through the rocks with many stops and a bunch of shots.

Le Montage did a great job yet again, and everyone enjoyed a wonderful and stylish evening.

Roni & Pat – 10th March 2012

My very busy weekend was punctuated with a beautiful and intimate ceremony on the waterfront at spectacular Rose Bay.

Roni nannied for the family that generously donated their majestic waterfront home for her marriage to Pat. Their 8 month old daughter Alexandra was of course in attendance and almost stole the show.

Kate and Keiran – Marriage by the Sea at Little Bay

Even though the weather wasn’t well behaved 100% of the time, it did give us a stunning backdrop to Kate and Keiran’s wedding at the old Prince Henry’s Chapel in Little Bay.

Kate looked stunning and Keiran looked awestruck as she walked down the aisle towards him to the dulcet tones of Keiran’s Dad’s Peter’s Piano Accordian. After a lovely ceremony by Amanda Knapton, we braved the weather for photos down at the beach and were rewarded with some great shots! We hopped in the mustang driven by the ever professional Frank from Monterey Classic Convertables and headed for Bonnie Doon Golf Club. After some quick snaps on the front green as the weather finally came in, we headed inside for a super fun reception. Keiran’s Dad Peter’s best mate Rick MC’d with such finesse you’d think he’d been doing it all his life! Rick, with those silky smooth tones and charisma to boot, I think you’ve found your calling!

Skye & Glenn – Nuptuals on Loxley

If anyone could turn a grey and miserable Sydney sky blue, it must be a bride named Skye. After all, it is Skye’s day, so simply only blue will do. After 8 long years (according to Skye’s mum), Glenn finally popped the question. Not one to rush into things, Glenn did a great job of planning their wedding day, much to Skye’s delight.

It was a fantastic day. Loxley on BellBird Hill is a wonderful venue and Greg Coss offered a delightful and heartfelt ceremony (as usual). I had a great time catching up with one of my favourite couples of 2009 – Chris & Carrie.

Angela & Mason’s Little Green and Gold All Black

One of my favourite couples from 2010, Angela and Mason recently welcomed their first bub into the world. They named him Blake Taniora (which means Daniel in Maori) which is Mason’s Dad’s name. Born three weeks early, he certainly took everyone by surprise. He’s settling in nicely and Angela is negotiating new motherhood excellently! Congrats guys, he’s adorable. We may just have a new Wallaby amongst us!

Chantal & Jon – From the top end to Berry

I first met Chantal and Jon at Catherine & Brad’s wedding nearly two years ago and when Chantal rang me from Darwin asking me to shoot her wedding, I was delighted!

In the time between our first meeting and the wedding, Chantal has had a beautiful baby daughter Shyla. They decided to kill two birds and their wonderful wedding ceremony was punctuated with Shyla’s naming ceremony. It was a delightful way to welcome the now 12 month old Shyla into her circle of friends and family.

After the ceremony at Apex park in Berry, we drove out to the Silo’s Winery for some spectacular scenery. The photo shoot was exceptional as was the wine tasting (so I’m told).

The reception was a Gabby’s in Berry.

Congratulations guys – I look forward to seeing you all again in a coule of weeks at Rachel & Mick’s wedding!

Lisa & Marcus – A year ended on a high note.

Johnathon, Marcus’ brother and best man said in his speech that 2011 had been a tragic year for so many reasons – QLD floods, bushfires and Japanese Sunami’s. What better way then, to finish off the year on a high note, with Lisa and Marcus’ wedding. I agree wholeheartedly!

For me, 2011 was packed full of spectacular weddings and this one did not dissapoint. Lisa was a stunning bride (after I got the buttons done up!) and their wedding day was up there with the best of the best all year. It appeared that the gods were smiling on them, putting on perfect weather after months of dreary McDreary. The ceremony at Balmoral Island was warm and heartfelt as their celebrant Caroline, is a family friend and close friend Jodi made an emotional reading. After a picture perfect photo shoot at Bradley’s Head, the Public Dining Room at Balmoral Baths put on a very stylish and sumptuous feast.

The Public Dining Room holds a special place in the hearts of the bridal couple as it is the venue of their first date when it was known as the Watermark. Last night it was the venue of yet another new beginning – the beginning of their married life together. I’d wish you both luck, but clearly you don’t need it. Lisa and Marcus, thank you for a wonderful end to my 2011. Believe me, the pleasure was all mine.

Jo & David’s Sydney Wedding

Jo and David dreamed of a Sydney wedding, complete with a bluebird day, sparkling waters and the Opera House glimmering in the distance to grace their photos to send home to family in dreary UK. Nothing ever goes to plan now does it??? The marriage of Jo and David today was better than any plan they had for the weather. After arriving from Cockatoo Island by water taxi, they had a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony officiated with the usual grace by Lillian Lyon. Attended by Jo’s sister Clair all the way from the UK, along with David’s brother Andrew from Glasgow and friends Michelle & Steve from Melbourne, it was one of the most intimate and sincere marriages I’ve been to in a long time.

But perhaps the most important attendant of all is their 3yr old son Sam. Jo & David met on match.com in the UK, then decided the Australian weather was more to their likeing (no, that’s not a joke) and so they travelled to Sydney, fell in love with the place and stayed. Along comes Sam and their family was begun. Today they embarked on a new journey, all three of them together.
