Rebecca & John – 3rd Nov 2012
Oh how I loooooooove a harbour wedding! The weather was perfect for photos, Rebecca looked amazing and John was a delightful groom. This day just couldn’t get any better!
Here’s how Rebecca tells their love story upto this point…
“John proposed to me on a family holiday with my parents. I would love to say the trip was fantastic or romantic but I can definitely say it was memorable. We were planning to spend 3days on Hamilton Island and 3days in QLD. When we arrived at Hamilton Island we met my parents there who had spent 4 days in the summer heat getting a nice tan however, as soon as our plane landed the clouds grew thicker and thicker and decided to stay that way for the rest of the holiday. Through the thunder and lightning John managed to build up the courage to asked my parents for approval to marry me, I of course I had no idea.
In the pouring rain John and I whisked away for a couple of days in Queensland just the two of us. After losing our rental car booking and picking up our luggage (the last to be dropped off) let’s just say John and I weren’t exactly in the best of spirits. We were both exhausted but John persevered and continued to take me out to what he thought was going to be a very romantic and fancy restaurant. When we arrived at the so called romantic and fancy restaurant we both discovered it wasn’t exactly a restaurant but a street café. John and I laughed it off and still had a nice dinner. As the café wasn’t far from the beach we decided to take a nice stroll on the beach seeing as this was the first time the rain clouds decided to stop. John looked like he was trying to tie his shoe lace and when I walked closer John held out the ring in a nice wooden box on one knee and said “will you marry me?” I screamed “Yes!” I couldn’t stop shaking or crying or saying I’m engaged!
Amazingly the next couple of days were great, the rain stopped and we were able to relax and enjoy our last couple of days of holidays.
John is an amazing man from the first day we met we had an instant connection, I didn’t think I believed in love at first sight but after meeting John it’s safe to say I do.” Awwwww!!!!
