I can’t wait to shoot Alicia’s and Joel’s wedding later next month at the amazing Ravensthorpe at Robertson. Last weekend we got together for their engagement shoot. Alicia chose this particular spot in Bundeena because it is a very special spot for her and Joel – its the very spot where Joel proposed! Awwwwww….
What is a photograph? Is it a picture? a story? does it have life? Does it make permanent all those fleeting moments we don’t see? Can a photograph define our family history?
To me, photography is not merely the best possible representation of ourselves in this moment looking like the version of ourselves we want to project. It is about future. The stories we capture today will become the past of tomorrow. If in the future there is no record of the past – did it even exist? How will that shape your future? That to me is the whole point of photography. To tell stories to the future, craft a legacy of today.
I was gifted the opportunity to craft Katrina & Matt’s legacy way back in May 2013 when I photographed their engagement portrait. Then there was the wedding…
and then baby Zahlee…
and now its Katrina’s Mum Kerry’s turn to complete the picture with a family portrait of her own with ALL the kids and grandkids…

I’m really looking forward to Jo and Daniel’s Wedding in March and it was delightful to catch up with them yesterday in the beautiful Royal National Park for their Engagement shoot. I’ll be turning these images into a gorgeous guest book for their guests to sign on their wedding night.
Their ceremony will be at the Camillia Gardens with the fabulous Lillian Lyon as celebrant. Its going to be a cracka!

I had a lovely Engagement session with the winners of our Brighton Novotel Expo winners, Elaine & Warren. With their wedding later in the year, they used this e-session as an opportunity to create some fantastic images to use on their invitation and they brought some great props that have been handed down from many previous friends’ weddings.
Despite the wind, we found a sheltered spot and Elaine’s hair and makeup by Living Beauty Makeup Artistry looked fantastic (as usual) and held up against the cyclone beautifully. Elaine looked delightful.

I’m so looking forward to Kate and Keiran’s wedding next year – but in the meantime, we had a wonderful engagement portrait shoot at Carss Park on Wednesday night. It was a little overcast which made the light absoutely perfect! These two are so in love I couldn’t help but have a great time with them. Sally from Living Beauty Makeup Artistry did a wonderful job with Kate’s makeup. I can’t wait to see what she does on Kate’s wedding day. This afternoon I had a wonderful Engagement shoot with Deepa and Colin. Darook Park is one of those locations that is different to shoot everytime I visit – I love it!
